Deeper Roots for Stormy Times
When a storm tears through, the trees left standing aren’t the ones with the thickest trunks. They’re the ones with the deepest roots. Right now the winds are fierce: headlines, crises, institutions cracking. Overwhelm is what happens when the storm outside is bigger than the roots inside.
Hospice physician Zach Bush calls this “hospice time.” The shallow-rooted strategies we were taught (compete, acquire, hurry, control) are toppling. Yet beneath the wreckage, new growth is pushing up in pockets of grace and community. Joanna Macy called it the Great Turning. It grows from the inside out.
Made for This Time is a three-part online class for growing deeper roots and accessing Higher Guidance:
Session One: The Still Point in the Storm
Session Two: Going Down to Rise Up
Session Three: Sacred Partnership
Through teaching and guided practice, you’ll learn to draw on higher worlds and the spiritual resources that have sustained contemplatives for centuries. Not to escape the storm, but to stand in it with peace, purpose and power. You’ll leave with practices you can use the very next morning.
The Journey: Three Evenings, Three Movements
The class follows the ancient journeys of ego, soul and Spirit: widening our awareness, deepening it, and opening it to the heights.

The Still Point in the Storm
Finding Presence in Hospice Time
We begin by naming what we're living through: an unraveling of the old world, and the quiet emergence of something new. You'll learn why overwhelm happens, and how to come back to the Still Point of Presence within minutes, even when the news keeps coming.
You'll experience: Embodied Listening through head, heart and body + the STOP practice
-
Going Down to Rise Up
Releasing What Dams the Sacred Stream
We can only rise as far as we are willing to go down. In this session we explore the journeys of ego and soul, meet our shadow with kindness, and practice the ancient art of letting go: one of the most powerful antidotes to anxiety we have.
You'll experience: A shadow exercise; the Outbreath / Inbreath letting-go practice; choosing a Sabbath for the soul
-
Sacred Partnership
Opening to Higher Worlds and Partnering with Our Spiritual Allies
Spirit is always communicating. As we become better listeners, we learn the language of higher worlds (signs, synchronicities, dreams and thin places) and how to partner with the spiritual allies who want to support our lives and work. We close by becoming a blessing in turn.
You'll experience: Imaginal listening; the Round Table, a guided encounter with spiritual allies; your personal Figure 8 practice plan
You'll Leave With
Simple practices for overwhelming moments: ways to find your center in three breaths, not three weeks
A clear map of the ego, soul and Spirit journeys, so you can see where you are and what's calling you
Freedom through letting go: practices for releasing the fears, resentments and old patterns that block the flow of Spirit
Fluency in the language of Spirit: how to recognize guidance in synchronicities, dreams and everyday “inbreakings”
A felt connection with spiritual allies, and a way to return to them whenever you face a bewildering question
Your own rhythm of practice: a personal plan for staying resourced, and for becoming a blessing to others
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
— Howard Thurman
This Class Is for You If…
You feel the weight of these times and long for a deeper source of steadiness, hope, and perspective.
You sense there is more to life than what we can see and feel drawn to explore the spiritual dimensions of everyday experience.
You find yourself longing for a deeper connection with the Sacred and the wisdom that can guide you through uncertain times.
You've experienced moments of synchronicity, unexpected guidance, or sacred presence and want to become more attentive to them.
You want more than inspiring ideas. You're looking for meaningful practices that help you live with greater peace, purpose, and presence.
The class draws on a diverse set of contemplative and wisdom traditions: Sufism, the Tao Te Ching, depth psychology and the Enneagram, and welcomes seekers of every path. The key is to take what serves you and leave the rest.
Whether you're a spiritual seeker, spiritual director, chaplain, clergyperson, coach, or caregiver, this class offers fresh resources for your own journey and for accompanying others.

Questions You May Have
Do I need a lot of background in spirituality?
Not at all. Everything is introduced from the ground up. Experienced practitioners will find plenty to deepen their practice, and newcomers usually feel right at home.
Is this tied to a particular religion?
No. Scott draws on wisdom from many traditions and invites you to translate it into the language of your own faith or path.
Some of this sounds a little “out there.” Is that okay?
Absolutely. Higher worlds and spiritual allies are offered as perspectives to explore, not beliefs to adopt. Curiosity and healthy skepticism are both welcome in the room.
What if I can't attend every session live?
Recordings are shared with all registrants, so you can catch up on anything you miss. Each session also stands on its own, though they build on one another.
Will I have to share in small groups?
Breakout conversations are an invitation, never a requirement. You're always welcome to listen, reflect and share only what feels right.
