Emptiness is not something most of us seek out. In fact, we avoid it by filling our spare moments with noise, tasks, or distractions. Yet, in my own journey, I've found that the discomfort of emptiness can be the very space where something deeper is born.
It's a strange paradox: the more we allow ourselves to settle into emptiness, the more we make room for a deeper knowing that can't be forced or manufactured.
I’m trying to pay attention to how quickly I reach for my phone or a book or a snack when nothing is demanding my attention. In those rare moments when I resist the urge to fill the gap, I sometimes encounter a quiet presence that first feels unsettling, and then can feel deeply nurturing.
That presence, I believe, is the womb from which deeper intuitions arise. It is in this emptiness that we can hear the subtle voice of Spirit, offering wisdom and guidance that are drowned out by constant activity.
When you feel restless, afraid, or uncertain, allow it to be an invitation to sit with your own emptiness for a while. The discomforts and fears are often real, but so is the possibility for transformation.
Are you getting enough emptiness? Rather than rushing to fill the void, see what arises when you simply allow it to be, and then listen . . . . .
