I recently walked past a yard that looked like a junkyard for forgotten things—dead grass, rusted metal, scattered cans, even a lone tire half-buried beneath the weeds.
But then a spark of color caught my eye. In the corner of the yard, a small plant with purple flowers was in full bloom. It was thriving—quietly, beautifully—right alongside all that clutter.
It reminded me how easily we focus on what’s wrong: the noise, the fears, the endless tasks and frustrations. In doing so, we miss what’s right here, waiting for us. The sacred is always near:
A door held open, a stranger’s smile, a funny email from a friend, a piece of music that brings tears, a hug from a loved one.
The sacred is always blooming.
